People can't get over how small Michael D looks standing next to Leo Varadkar
YESTERDAY, GALWAY defeated Waterford to become this year’s All Ireland Hurling Champions.

President Michael D Higgins was there to greet the players – and though he was born in Limerick, he was clearly delighted to see his adopted home county win.
Taoiseach Leo Varadkar was seated next to him for the match, and when it came time for the speeches people watching on TV couldn’t help but notice one thing.
Surely Michael D isn’t HALF the size of Leo Varadkar?
Hardly, says you. He’s sitting down, or crouching, or something like that.
Please observe these photos of Leo Varadkar receiving his seal of office from Michael D – the Taoiseach, at 6’4″ (according to this 2014 profile), stands a whole foot taller than the President, who is 5’3″.

So now you know. Michael D really IS that small. Ahhh. *wipes away tear*
